how liverpool businesses have adapted their services for covid-19

We know times are tough right now, for businesses and the general public. With good reason we must all make sacrifices to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus disease. That said, there’s still plenty of positives to take from this whole experience. While most of the world is currently on hiatus due to the virus, it’s great to see that businesses are taking unique steps to keep their customers happy while locked in quarantine.

Here are some of the ways local businesses in Liverpool have adapted their services around the COID-19 pandemic. We will keep this article updated with the latest developments – and please let us know if you think there are other businesses we should include!

My Cookie Dough

Unfortunately this provider of mouthwatering cookies and shakes has temporarily closed their doors in Liverpool One, but there’s still a way you can get your My Cookie Dough fix! My Cookie Dough has started selling Bake It Yourself Home Packs via their website. For just £20 and free UK shipping, you will receive a range of ingredients including cookie dough, sauce pots, Kinder Bars, Biscoff Biscuits and a recipe card. All you need is an oven, baking paper and ice cream to treat yourself with a delicious dessert. Stock is very high in demand so make sure you check the website regularly for new availability and act quickly to avoid missing out!

Bongo’s Bingo

Bongo’s Bingo used to be one of the best places to be for a lively night out in Liverpool until the coronavirus came along. It’s bingo like you’ve never known it before with dance-offs, raves and a chance to win incredible prizes. Events may now be cancelled in person but Bongo’s have been hosting an online show through Twitch.  All you need to play is a pen, paper and a UK registered phone. The show is currently on a break but keep your eyes peeled on social media to find out when the next one is scheduled to take place.

Botanical Garden

The weather has been lovely recently and what better way to enjoy it than with a refreshing drink from the Botanical Garden? You may not be able to enjoy the sun from this Baltic Triangle’s cocktail bar but you can do so from your own home. The Botanical Garden is now offering a range of frosty treats for delivery including super size slush pouches than can be delivered frozen.

Dough Liverpool

This takeaway in Liverpool has always served a range of delicious pizzas and more, but during the lockdown they have announced a new menu item that has got everyone talking. Dough Liverpool has introduced a £25 halloumi box! The Dough Famous Five Box comes with cornflake chicken, Halloumi fries, truffle tots, dough balls and truffle fries.  Cheese heaven!

The Little Shoe

The Little Shoe is a restaurant based on Bold Street. Following the rise of the virus in March, they were forced to close their doors but introduced an online shop around the same time. Customers can order a variety of home-made meals for delivery or collection. They are also part of a ‘Pay It Forward’ initiative to support the local community. Customers can donate a care package which will be sent to vulnerable communities in the city. The packages include essential supplies and meals.

Our City Explorer tour buses may currently be suspended due to COVID-19, but we can’t wait to welcome all our customers back on board as soon as it is safe to do so! Liverpool is an incredible city with plenty of things to see and do, but for now, please stay at home, stay staff and keep positive 🙂
